Summer at Majestic Harbor
Our summer program integrates explorations of educational hands-on curriculum
with the easy going feeling of summertime fun for children ages 1 through 8.
Children attending the summer program have a variety of projects to complete.
They are given summer reading and writing assignments, as well as lessons in
science, mathematics humanities and the arts. Outdoor exploration compliments
the science curriculum. Majestic Harbor believes that by blending academic rigor
and innovative, creative experiences together with the development of strong
moral character, students develop a personal commitment to creating a better
future for self, school, family and society at large.
Our programs allow students to immerse themselves in an area of interest.
Experienced professional educators head up our camps, which are tailored to the
ages of its participants.
Our wide array of daily activities includes music, theatre, Spanish, dance and
movement, computer, and outdoor exploration. They are geared toward the type
of discovery and personal development experienced outside the school year.
Weekly themes include:
Let's Plant a Garden
What could be more appealing for young children than an opportunity to play in the dirt, to be creative, and watch things grow! Pressed flowers, sprouting in a bag, and sponge lawns will be some of the concepts learned in this fun filled week!
A Fish Tale
Learn about different fish habitats, how your local fish are being
caught, what it’s like to be a fisherman, and lastly a look inside of a fish as we
do dissection.
Space
Although pre-schoolers may not be able to completely understand the
concepts of atmosphere or gravity, they can look at the night sky with wonder
and excitement. It is not too early to introduce basic astronomy concepts like
planets, stars and constellations.
Tide Pools
Let's create a tide pool in our classroom, and explore the
uniquely adaptable animals that live in this environment!
The Ocean
Your child will enjoy learning about the ocean, ocean animals
and the beach with our ocean and beach inspired crafts and activities,
emergent reader booklets, rhymes and songs.
Weird Science
Back by popular demand! We will be conducting various
scientific experiments that our students love to be a part of!
Secret Life of Marine Mammals, Sharks and Turtles
How do you measure
the length of a blue whale? What would it be like to have a mouth full of
baleen teeth? What would it be like to grow up as a sea turtle? Answer these
questions and more in our very scientific classrooms!
Kids in the Kitchen
Tasty and nutritious recipes for children to prepare
and enjoy!
Pirates and Treasure
Ahoy Matey! Look through a spyglass, find buried
treasure, and create some colorful crafts with your tour guide Captain Lucky!
Aargh! Fun will be had by all!
Camping Fun
A tent and s’mores will bring back wonderful memories for
parents. We will be creating an indoor world of fun without all of the
mosquitoes. Come and enjoy a week of fun, crafts, games and outdoor
